Description:The Shipping and Receiving Lead Coordinator is expected to understand, engage and lead the Shipping and Receiving activities in their area of responsibility. Directly responsible for ensuring a high quality, safe product; while minimizing damage, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices. The Shipping / Receiving Lead Coordinator will be responsible for working in multiple positions, scheduling the day to day activities, and working with other departments on warehouse related issues.
Duties:•Responsible for setting appointments with outside carriers by phone and/or email and entering appointments into the computer appointment scheduling program.
•Ensure all paperwork is filled out and processed correctly for area of responsibility.
•Understand Shipping / Receiving and warehouse processes and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement.
•Understand quality standards, follow those standards and knowing what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly.
•Be responsible for GMP’s of self and others in work area.
•Must possess the ability and aptitude to identify, correct and improve potential safety items.
•Must participate in accident investigation and completion of follow-up reporting.
•Must participate and provide leadership in other plant initiatives (i.e., safety programs, quality audits, and productivity) and team involvement.
•Understand Manufacturing guidelines for food safety, food security, and sanitation.
•Responsible for daily housekeeping of the warehouse
Qualifications:•Must possess ability to perform in all the following warehouse functions: Bulk Receiving, Line Support, Shipping / Receiving, Inventory clerk.
•Must possess ability to run material needs, pick sheets, understand BOL process, RV, TR, and responsible for running daily reports Also understand MER process.
•Operate a sit down, stand up, rotator, slip sheeter, and a grabber forklift.
•Fully engage in Forklift PM’s, yard dog or tractor PM’s, and battery changing process.
•Understand and follows the COA process for receiving materials
•Must possess the ability to Schedule appointments and maintain the automated appointment system in the AS400, coordinate inter company transfers to the appropriate facility by planning ahead and looking at the production schedule for the week.
•Must understand and maintain the FIFO system for raw materials and finished goods
•Must possess the ability to perform inventory cycle counts and identify solutions for continuous improvement. Also have the ability to research missing or misplaced pallets.
•Understand pallet and racking system in the holding freezer Understand and follow transportation security processes and loading patterns and weight distribution.
•Must be able to coordinate and plan with customer service, outside logistics, Whse 2 and Bama facilities on daily and weekly transfers.
•Must submit to all assessments and testing, including math/reading test and EQ assessment testing.
•Must display effective communication skills and listening skills
•Understand warehouse guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
•Computer skills in AS400, Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel and Email.
•Experience with set down and stand up forklift operation.
•Experience with Inventory control process.
•Demonstrated problem solving ability.
•Must have proven safety record in past work history.
